Citibase has launched a new 10,000 sq ft site in Halesowen, near Birmingham, as we look to cash in on growing appetite from occupiers for having bases outside cities.

Citibase Halesowen, which is seven miles outside the UK’s second city, allows for reduced commuting, with customers getting free access to one of our spaces in London once a month for client meetings.

The site, at the refurbished Trinity Point building, offers users breakout spaces and rooms, communal areas and on-site parking near Halesowen town centre. It forms part of Citibase’s NewFlex portfolio.

Citibase chief executive Steve Jude said the move reflected “the rise of regions” in the overall office market, and hinted that the firm could expand further in the West Midlands.

“Citibase Halesowen will provide much-needed affordable office space that allows local starts-ups and businesses to thrive, with the flexibility to easily change the size of their space as they grow without the financial commitment of typical long lease commitments,” Jude added.

“In light of Covid-19 and the increase in flexible and hybrid working habits, our Citibase Local initiative will also allow customers to enjoy the best of both worlds, utilising our London office spaces part-time should they require it.

“With our roots in Birmingham, Citibase Halesowen forms a key part of our expansion plans around the West Midlands area.”
